Our Story: A Legacy of Innovation Since 1934
What began in 1934 with Machani Somappa’s mission to uplift weavers has grown into a lasting legacy of innovation and impact. Honored with India’s first Padma Shri in 1954, his vision of economic empowerment laid the foundation for generations to come.
Decades later, when our Managing Director Ravi Machani asked Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam what entrepreneurs could do for the nation, the answer was simple yet profound: “Create more jobs.”
Inspired by this call, Ravi launched the first IndiVillage center in 2010 in Yemmiganur, India. From one center to 12 and growing, our journey has always been guided by a single mission of leveraging technology to create #TechJobsForAll and driving change that matters.
